This a photograph taken on Christmas Eve 1923 of the choir of the First Congregational Church singing Christmas carols on the North Portico of the White House. President Calvin Coolidge and First Lady Grace Coolidge attended the performance. This photograph is from the Herbert E. French Collection, of the National Photo Company at the Library of Congress, which captured life in Washington, D.C., from the Wilson to the Hoover administrations.
